Who am I?

I have graduated in 2023 with a Master’s Degree from Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture. My field of major studies has been interior architecture and minor studies was contemporary design.

I teach arts and crafts to secondary-level artisan students while also engaging in multidisciplinary projects and pursuing my own design work. Lately I have been working in the field of exhibition architecture and with my own design and art. As materials, e.g. wood and ceramics

In the spring of 2022 I founded a Studio Bom community with my two friends. Studio Bom is a creative community built on the vision of bringing together people from diverse creative fields and backgrounds. Studio Bom is now home to nine professional artists and designers.

In 2024, I founded a design duo Jalkanen & Keski-Pomppu, together with my designer friend Päivi Keski-Pomppu. We work together in the intersection between art, design and architecture, in the field of objects and sculpture, as well as furniture and interior design. We strongly believe that better and more insightful results can be achieved through hands-on work, regardless of the nature of the project.

My roots lie in North Savo, a region in northeastern Finland, surrounded by the deep forests of my grandmother’s home. Heritage often inspires me, weaving a journey from the past to the present in my creations. For me, sustainable aesthetics, the stories behind objects, and the philosophy of crafting items to endure across generations are fundamental principles of design.
